Good Monday morning everyone!
Well I'm off for the last of my pre-op testing and I'm really very NERVOUS. Dr. Roye's office scheduled my pulmonary test (blood gas) for today and I thought I would just wait to do the rest of them at RIH. So I'll have my chest x-ray, EKG, blood gas test AND....that terrific thing I have to look forward to......the 27 vials of blood drawn. Oh man!! I couldn't sleep much. Kept thinking that I'm going to pass out or throw up on the floor. LOL.
But I'll be done after today. I will call and make my appt to see Dr. Roye. I'm sure he's going to have something to say about my bad gallbladder. My moms worried (she lives in Oklahoma). She's going to come up and take care of me after I have surgery. I think that makes me feel better. Tommy is good, but I think he'll be freaked out and I'll need her to take care of things. So I'm trying to get ready, cause after today, I have a feeling things are going to really start moving fast.
Wish me luck today folks....I'm a little scared. I'll let you know how I do!
Shel
Shelli,
Everything will be ok...I wish you all the luck in the world. I should have met you up there and could have been with you during this time...I wish I would have thought of this earlier.
Well just know that as the tests go by, you'll be on your way to the losers bench to sit next to me...*S*...My prayers are with you my angel girlie...
Love ya,
Teri
good morning to shel and everyone...
Dont be scared. HOnestly like Teri said, it's not all that bad. The good thing is that you are going to have the rest of them done at one time. The lady that does the blood gas thing is very nice. The blood that is taken from your arterery feels like a burning sensation and only lasts for a very short time.
The 27 vials of blood is what blew me away, it didnt hurt it was just the thought of having that much blood taken. But after I had it done, I felt ok, but bought a bottle of orange juice just in case. OJ is great if you feel a bit woozy. I didnt, but i had to drive home so i drank it just in case. I hate to tell you this, but you have to have one more blood test done 10 days before surgery. At least I had to, and I went Friday morning. My insurance wanted it done.
By the way Teri, how are you doing?? YOu were trying to nurse a cold, and didnt feel too good. Wow today is the 8th and i am going in on the 17th!! It sure is going by fast. I am off my NSAIDS today, I called Linda at Dr. Harrington's office and asked if I could take Tylenol she said yes. MY arthartis is going to be a battle of pain because I cannot take the NSAIDS that was prescibed for me any more until some of this weight is off. Tylenol just doesnt do it for me

Hi Shel,
Whre did u go for ur sleep study? I called the one on Rt2 near Cardis and I am booked for a month and a half now. Did u go to a different one, If u did which one did u go to if u do not mind me asking. I scheduled all my other test within the next 2 weeks and I really do not want to wait a month and a half to go thtough the sleep study.
Shannon
Hi Shannon:
Yes, I booked my Sleep Study at the one down by Cardi's........and mine was booked at about a month out too. BUT.....I asked to be put on the cancelation list and I was called in about a week later. I saved a whole month with that. They only do 2 people a night and they don't do only one...so if you can be flexible, tell them you'll take a cancelation spot.
I hope that works for you. Let me know.
Shel
