Ok when's the next meeting? And some finger crossing needed tomorrow!!!
Ok when's the next meeting????
Hay girls quick question.
With May just around the corner does anyone know when the next meeting is at Jerry House??
I missed the last one at the beginning of this month because I had to work but I now have a set schedule at work and can make the next one. I'd really love the chance to meet you all in person as I feel like you all know each other already and I'm the last straggling behind. I'll be dragging my hubby along also as he has his first visit with Dr. Roye tomorrow!!!! I'm so excited for him!!
I began learning about WLS for him but unfortunaly his first visit with a wls doctor did not go well. He saw Dr Phole last January 2005 and well he told my hubby he had to loose 100lbs before he'd do surgery. My hubby was pissed to say the least. I mean if he could lose 100lbs on his own he wouldn't need wls. Do he was disgusted and thought that was it for him. Then he took sick in late January and unfortunally now because of the illness he has a replacement aortic valve in his heart. This sickness had nothing to do with his weight and all to do with a doctor's mistake. He had a massive staph infection that they missed for three weeks and it ended up eating away at his heart valve causing endocarditis. With this happening we thought that was it for him, no wls because now he is on blood thinners for the rest of his life. So we left it at that. Recently at his last doctors visit Dr. Adams asked me how my testing was going regarding my surgery and I let her know I had a date. She then turned to my husband and asked "what about you? You ever think about having it done?" My husband and I got completely wide eyed like two little kids who believe they just saw Santa crossing the sky on Christmas Eve!!!!! I asked "what about his valve and his blood thinners???" She said "oh he'll be fine!" because it was his valve was damaged and not his heart there will be no problems and as far as the blood thinners go they will lower his dose and have him do the lovnox shots which is no big deal because he did them after his valve surgery for a time until they got him regulated. We left Dr. Adams office on cloud nine! I LOVE that woman!!!! So the next day he did his online questionnaire and called for his appointment.
Sooooo tomorrow will be a big day in our house also.. Please keep him in your thoughts tomorrow. My hubbys 34, 6'5 and 500+lbs (I say + cuze there isn't any scales he can go on) His height saves him ALOT because nobody believes he's 500lbs. Most people peg him at 375 390. He was 420 in February when he left the hospital but with getting back on his feet and regaining his health he put everything back on. He's tired, physically and mentally. He's never really let his weight get in his way of much but as he gets older he's slowing down allot. His body is fighting his mind. He wants to go go go but his body's like dude I wanna sleep NOW.. I met my husband at 375 and I love him no matter what, so he could be a 1000 lbs head on a platter and I wouldn't care but he's no longer physically able to sustain his frame.
Cross ya fingers for us.....
