i haven't checked in here in a few days.. i've been busy! i went to see the Doctor on Friday and things went really well. they took out 25 staples, just about every other one - so i can move around soooo much better now. i still have a JP drain in, and i'm hoping that'll go next Friday when the rest of the staples get taken out. i lost 15 pounds! woohooo. i think i look sooo much better now, but a lot of that has to do with the hernia repair. for the last year my tummy has been sticking out more and more, even though i haven't gained all that much weight. so when they fixed me all up, it's almost like i got a mini tummy tuck. my boobs stick out farther than my tummy. sweeeeeeeet. other than that, i'm tolerating foods really well. my schedule seems to go like this: 8-8:30am: wake up, eat 1/3 container of Columbo Light/FF yogurt. 9am: start drinking CL. usually around 16oz by 10. 10-10:30am: protein shake [Nectar Fuzzy Navel, with CL Sunrise and ice] 10:30-11:30: more CL. i try for another 16oz. but it's more like 8, because of shower time. 12-12:30pm: microwave and blend, 1/8 c of both ricotta and cottage cheese, with a pinch of FF mozzarella and a spoonful of spaghetti sauce. 1:30: start drinking CL again - again, around 16oz. 2pm: nap time. usually till 4. 4: protein shake! same as above 4:30-5:30: drink as much as possible. 6:15-6:45: i've been eating FF refried beans with sour cream to make it thinner. might start adding some cheddar cheese to it soon. 7:30-8:30: drink more CL! 8:30: protein shake [might make a chocolate one with milk if i'm looking fro something sweet] 9-11: drink as much as possible. it's really hard to stick to. especially when i find myself taking a lot longer to get showered/dressed. or when i take unexpected naps... but this is what i aim for. some days i get enough liquid in, some times i don't. i find i either eat enough, but don't drink... or drink enough, but don't want to eat. when i don't want to eat.. i make myself. it's really hard. totally new feeling to deal with. other people eating around me.. has been hard. i get a little angry, almost, that i can't just eat what they're eating.. but then i remind myself that soon enough, i'll be able to .. and i'm doing this surgery because i need to learn to control myself.. so i usually get over it pretty quick. i've been spending a lot of time out in the sun.. which is nice. i've got the start of a nice tan, like miss teri, lol.. so everyone who sees me is ahving a hard time believing i'm just over a week out of major surgery!! woohooo. hope this helps some of you ... will check in again in a little bit! kristen
