Went for my first Dr. visit today.....
And I have to say I am a little disappointed in myself. I went to see Dr. Sax out of Miriam Hospital. The staff there were very nice, and they did the whole question and answer thing. I am already in a psych. group pre-post op patients, and I have already done my sleep study, and received my CPAP machine. The only real tests I have to have done is a thyroid test and meet with a dietitian. But....and this is where I could just kick myself in the bum...I have to be smoke free for 6 months before I can even meet with the dr. again. I understand why that is, and I accept it, I just kick myself because I had quit last year, and then started smoking again over the summer!!!! I have already purchased nicorette on ebay, and plan on quitting as soon as it comes in. I know that I will be in the pre/post - op group in order to get a hold of my eating patterns for a while if I want to be successful, because I have a pretty significant eating disorder. I don't want to rush that because if I do, then I won't be successful after I have the surgery.
Just wanted to give an update of where I am at.
