Pre-op Testing..........
Hi folks:
As some of you know, I went for most of my pre-op testing last year when I was going to see Dr. Pohl. Now I've changed my mind and I see Dr. Roye and they say that I can transfer all of those test results to his office, even though they're about 10 months old.
Here's my question. When I stopped testing, I had the Sleep Apnea test and the Edoscopy to complete. I don't have my first consult at Dr. Roye's office til March 29th. Do you think I should go ahead and reschedule those appts now, with the people that I was going to go to last time? I don't think it's a big deal where we get the tests done, right?
Or should I wait for this consult?
I'm just thinking that I could call and get these appts scheduled, since it takes a while to get in those places.
What do you think?
Shel
Hi Shell,
I myself was almost done with all my testing and it was taking forever to get my Endoscope booked. I called Dr.Royes office and asked if my PCP could book this for me with someone else and they said absolutely not! So I had to wait. it look about 2-3 weeks for them to squeeze me in due to the fact they don't book wls patents on a regular basis, they squeeze us in open spots. They do it right at Rhode Island Hospital. As for the sleep study I'm not sure, I'd say call his office and ask. You may need a referral for that also.
Hope this helps!

Hi NaDene:
How are you? Thanks for the heads up, that's what I was looking for. I sort of figured that Dr. Roye's office might be a bit more strict than Dr. Pohl's........but.....I seemed to have slipped by the Sleep Study test though. They accepted me and gave me an appt for May 1st....I asked to be put on the cancelation list and the guy said "no problem". He also said he would call Dr. Roye's office and get something referring me to the clinic. He said he would call if there was a problem and I've heard nothing and it's been hours...**silent shreaks of delight**.
I went ahead and made the endoscopy appt too, but they were less thrilled about me seeing Dr. Roye and not Dr. Pohl, (who uses this particular Dr. at Roger Williams Hospital. All of my previous paperwork with them had Dr. Pohl's name on it and she was less agreeable unless I came up with a referral (which, according to you, is out of the question) *sigh*...oh well! She did make me an appt for the 22nd of March, but I have to cough up that referral first......so that stinks. I think I will just wait til I have my consult on the 29th of March with Dr. Roye. They will be able to see that most of the tests are completed or due to be completed. Really I'll only need the endoscopy....and hopefully my sleep study will be bumped up.
But alas.......like usual....I need to bring the engine down a notch. I'm so freakin excited that it's all I can talk about or think about. My DH is about to climb the walls, but he understands my excitement I think.
Anyway NaDene, do you have your angel yet?.....I would like to volunteer. You've been so helpful to me and I would like to reciprocate.
Hugs
Shel
hi there
dr. roye uses University Pulmonary Associates. They are located in Warwick, Middletown and East Greenwich. I know that the number to the East Greenwich office is 615-5878.
I didn't have to schedule an endoscopy, so i'm not sure about that. but i don't see why it would hurt if you called the sleep study people now.. this is the hardest test to schedule!!
