Sooooo frustrating

OMG I need to vent!! Ok so here's my gripe, I received my packet in the mail announcing my approval December 23rd (best Christmas gift I ever got!) So I chug along at all my appointments getting them done faster then I expected. I go for my 7:00am esophageal manometry appointment January 27th thinking this is no big deal. I've had a scope done before and I know they NORMALY sedate you. So I go in with no worries, walk in the room thinking I know what to expect. Well the lady there starts to explain to me how she's going to stick this tube up my nose and it will go down the back of my throat to my stomach, still I'm ok thinking wow she's really thro with explaining what's going to go on even though I'm going to be loopy. THEN she says she's going to give me this cup of water and says when she tells me to swallow I need to swallow, now I'm thinking how do I do that if I'm out of it still thinking at this point someone's going to walk in at anytime in to do my iv for the meds. HERES THE KICKER!!!!! She says ok now hop up on this table and we'll get started. NO DRUGS!!!!! WIDE AWAKE!!! HELLO HELL NO!!! She proceeds to tell me at any time if I feel uncomfortable that she can take it out. Even if it's already in my stomach. Needless to say she got to the top of my nasal passage and I starting flipping out. She was asking if it hurt!! Hurt!! Humm let me shove a tube about the with of pencil up yor nose and tell me how you feel. At this point I myself was trying to take it out. So then she pulls out a stack of papers about the size of a phone book and says its ok, this all the other people who couldn't do it either!!! I now ask SO WHY DO IT? Anyways she then tells me because I couldn't do it that way I have to wait to get "FIT IN" a spot for it to be done the other way. Sooooo frustrating. So I call my doctors office and let him know That I needed to get "FIT IN" and they tell me they'll fax the info over and be in contact with me. Well now as of yesterday all my testing is DONE except for this scope! I've been calling and they keep telling me nothing yet. I called this am to let them know I'm all done with my testing and this is the last thing I need to do and the receptionist say "yep I have your name but nothing has come open yet". Ok so this isn't her fault but then I ask if they have updated my phone number as it changed three weeks ago and I made sure to let them know.. She recited my number back to me, IT WAS MY OLD ONE!!!!!!! ACCCK!!!

Oh Boy. ((((hugs)))) I am glad I didnt have to have that test! why are you having it done anyway? I am dr Harrington's patient (dr royes partner) and I didnt have to have it. Good luck! Kerry

OMG!! I need to have the test done too - I'm calling on Monday to make sure I'm on drugs - thanks for the warning.
