I went to my doctor yesterday and spoke with her about WLS she told me about Dr. Pohl. I was wondering if anyone else is going to the seminar next week? Or if anyone has been to one of his seminars? How was it? What am I to expect? Do I need to bring anything? I didn't get to hear much from the person on the phone due to background noise on my end. I also just wanted to hear from other people that have expierenced the seminar. Thank you, Jamice

Hi Jamice, I had surgery with Dr. Pohl in March of 2004. He is wonderful! I can't say enough good things about him and his staff. His seminar is very informative. You can bring paper and pen if you would like. He does give you a pamphlet (or use to anyway) when you leave which pretty much explains everything he spoke about. I went to 2 seminars before I had surgery. It is a lot to digest in 1 night. I also brought my husband with me so he would understand what I would be going through. The pamphlet will explain all the pre-op appointments you will need to complete before you have surgery. Best of luck to you! Any questions, feel free to email me! Lisa

Hi Jamice: I have been to Dr Pohl's seminar it is about 1 1/2 hrs long he goes over the surgery for gastic bypass and the lapband. He also hands out information on what u will have ahead of you in regards for medical testing gallbladder ultrasound, endoscopy and about 4 more. Get there early it really does full up and yes bring your husband so he will know what is going on. Dr Pohl mission is: Treat you as I would treat my wife or my parents and provide you with the best personal and surgical care when I read that I said wow.. this is the Dr for me. So I have a date with Dr Pohl Feb 7 and I know I am in good hands. Good Luck with seminar

Yes, you are probably right. I'm just confused. I have to lose a 120 lbs. but two people in my family have had wls (one stomach staple and one bypass) both were very successful at first and then just gained it back. I don't want that to happen to me, so I just feel like I should try another diet. Thanks for the encouragement. Norma
