I went to my teaching class today and left disappointed and a bit confused. The nursing staff member never showed up. (only rehab and nutrition) So all the wonderful things I heard about them, I did not get to experience. So now I am wondering, this is it?? Just call the day before surgery to see what time I show up and that is it??? There are no final pre op things??Like meeting the anethesiologist?? Shaking my head I'm confused. I think I will call the surgeons office just to be sure I understand everything. 12 days..........................came quicker than I thought. ~D~

I can't even remember what the nurse had to say at the teaching class. I guess it wasn't memorable. You got the most important info and you'll meet your anethesiologist that morning before you go in. Don't worry, I had my surgery on 11/8 (Dr. Roye) and I sailed right thru. Everyone there is great.

Thanks Angela, I appreciate your support and encouragement. I am sure all will be fine, but it just seems like I should know or be doing more.....LOL I know a bit of nerves are beginning to creep in too. Like the, "Do I have everything done?" questions. What is it exactly I am suppose to have done?? I think us woman, or maybe it is mothers (I am not sure) like to toture ourselves. Here it is 2 weeks after Christmas and I am doing spring/deep cleaning, so noone sees my house as dirty after I get home from the hospital. What am I thinking?? I have 3 males in the house, just how clean does anyone really think 3 males are going to make it??? LOL And I think I have bought every flavor protien shake they make, just so I have at least one I like after surgery. 10 days to go......now what else can I go clean??? ~Donna~

Hey Donna, Is your surgeon Dr. Roye? He was my surgeon. Durring my pre-op class all the nurses really told us was where we would be taken and phone numbers where family and friends could check on us. I remember one thing from the nurses section, they said when you wake up you will have a oxigen gage or some such thing on our finger that glows red. She said when people wake up 9/10 times they think their finger is on fire and try to put it out. LOL! Dont worry too much, you'll be okay You will meet your anestesiologist in the morning and youll have pleanty of time to ask questions. Luckily I knew mine from a previous surgery, so she already kind of knew how my body acts to anestesia. If you have Dr. Roye I can tell you with confidance you are in wonderful hands! Good luck! With love, Em
