Moving to RI - Help Needed
I currently am living in Jacksonville, FL and will be moving to RI within the next few months. I'm being relocated for a job. I don't know anything about the area other than visiting the department I'll be movingin to Lincoln, RI. I don't know anyone up there and I'm having a really hard time searching on line for a house. But I'm not familiar with what cities are "good" to live in. I'm married with 2 kids in elementary school. I'll be working with a realtor as part of my relocation package however before I accept the position I want to make sure that there are homes/neighborhoods that are affordable. I tried searching on line but I'm getting no where. Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! -Jenn
Don't forget assisttosell.com or helpusell.com and good ole Remax.com
As far as good affordable areas, well that dependson what you call affordable. Lincoln is a nice town and so are several of the surrounding towns. My father lives in Jacksonville Fl.
If you want to email me I will see what I can do to help you. (Suggestions, ideas, local favorite restaurants, etc.)
Good Luck with the relocation.

Jen our local news paper may be of great help for you. You can check it out online at www.projo.com . Lincoln is a nice area. Cumberland which is right by Lincoln is nice too. I grew up in Pawtucket, thank the good larwd I don't live there anymore, it skirts Cumberland and Lincoln and if someone GAVE me a house there I'd pass it up. People will say Darlington is nice (its part of Pawtucket) but that area is shrinking more and more. North Providence is nice too and isn't far off from Cumberland and Lincoln. I'd say stay away from South Providence at all cost! Bad Bad Bad! On the news almost nightly you see some sort of major crime report coming out of South Providence. Defiantly not a warm fuzzy place to be! I myself now reside in East Providence and I have to say the biggest to doo around here is about who hasn't brought in their trash barrels after trash night. It's a predominately Portuguese area and they like things clean, neat, and just so. It makes for a town that keeps it self really clean. I hope this was of some help. Good luck on your search! And remember most towns have their own site so you might want to go to a search engine like GOOGLE and type in the town your interested in and see what it pulls up for you..
P.S.
If your working with a realtor make sure you ask them about the water issues in the town you are interested in!! Lincoln, Cumberland and Pawtucket all have water issues from time to time. Boil water issues, pressure issues, rust issues, and well I think I can speak for most when I say the taste of Pawtucket's water ranks up their with the water in Disneyworld! It tastes HORRABLE!! (that's if you can get past the over powering chlorine smell)
Good Luck!
