Buddy needed!!! My name is Susan. I am hoping to have lap banding but need to deal with my issues of emotional eating. I need help. I need a buddy who has been there or who is there now. Please help. Thanks!!!

Hi Susan, I can chat with you if you want. But let me tell you something the R.I. message board is very slow nobody goes on much. Your better off going to the main message board and you will meet tons of people. You can find someone who has had lap banding. I had my surgery 5 months ago, i had laproscope with Dr. Harrington. hi cheryl thanks for responding. are you an emotional eater? If so how was it for you right after surgery/ Did you eat more than you were supposed to/ Did you eat things you should not? Do you go to support groups? Thanks susan

Hi Susan, No i"am not an emotional eater. Just eat all the time. Well i use to. I eat very light now. I love to go to support meetings but its hard to find friends who can make it. I wont go alone because i live in burrillville, which is like 40 minutes away from R.I. hospital. Yoku should e-mail me i will get your mail faster,OK. Have you started your testing yet? cheryl

Hi David Thanks for responding. Congratulations on your fabulous success!!!! did you go to the RIH psychiatric dept for preop eval? I have Dr. Pohl and went there. they told me that I am an emotional eater and that will hold up surgery. Need counseling. Are you an emotional eater? How did you deal with this? Did you eat more or things you were not supposed to after surgery? Did you get sick? Is the RIH support group open to all? Did you have any counseling through RIH psychiatry? So you are an EMT firefighter? who do you work for/ I am an ER nurse at RIH. Thanks Susan
