Hi everyone! I had my surgery and everything went well and I am recovering nicely. I was released on Thursday afternoon and finally just got upstairs to my computer this morning! My incisions are healing nicely, I am amazed at how small they are! I have been walking every day since Saturday and I feel so energized! Getting the amount of protein in is challenging, but I am making sure I drink the shake from morning til evening. I have 3 more shots and I'm done with those for good! SEE YA!! LOL I have to comment on the staff at RIH and the CoOp. One word...AMAZING! They were comforting, helpful, supportive, professional, sincere and just so excited for me and my new journey and beginning. Dr. Roye is awesome and I will always be thankful and grateful for this new beginning that he has given me! I know I have a lot of challenges ahead of me, but I am looking forward to educating myself on how to be healthier with this new tool I have been given. See you all at the support groups!!!!

I should have looked it up but iam asssuming you had lap. Also glad to hear the hospitol stay was good. When i was going through my testing the hospitol staff were very nice. I mean all of them. I even wrote a letter to the administrator of the hospitol saying how nice everyone was. My boss is in R.I. recovering from open she had friday. I talked with her yesterday and she was in alot of pain.Well good luck and keep in touch. cheryl

Hi Cheryl, Congrats on having your surgery date for May 27th! Which Dr. do you have? I heard the open was a much more painful recovery then the lap. I wish your boss much luck! When I first met Dr. Roye he requested that I lose at least 25 before the surgery or he would not do the lap. I lost 29, thankfully! I had an entire year to do it, so I wasn't stressing over it too much. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful and uneventful surgery!!

Dee, So glad to hear your home and doing so well!! I'm so happy for you! It's good to have you on the "other side" now!! Take it easy and don't fret about the protein, just do the best you can. It gets easier as time goes on. Keep up the walking, you are off to an amazing start! Megan

Hi Megan!! Thank you SO much for the well wishes and good thoughts sent my way! It's VERY good to be on the "other side" and I am looking forward to looking and feeling just as good as you do Megan! How are you doing? I bet you've been busy with your "new" life and enjoying your children and family. I would love to meet at Panara again when I can finally eat normally! I just want to get as much protein in so my hair won't all fall out when the time comes when my body lets me know it was traumatized. I have only 2 more shots and I'm glad to move on from that. I ate a little too much tonight and although I didn't dump, it was pretty uncomfortable for about 20 minutes....almost'ing LOL Thanks again Meg and hope to see you soon hon!!
