surgeon for the super obese???

Hi all, Just went to a meeting for surgery in Mass and found out he does not do on people over 350. I am looking for others who have been 400+ and have had surgery done in RI/MA. Thanks Juli

How ridiculous is that? That is what this surgery is for...obese people, not obese people under a certain weight...geesh. I have Dr. Roye and when I initially went to him 375 and I am down to 348 now so I could have the lap. He asked me to lose at least 25 lbs. prior to the surgery or I would have the open which I did not want...it took a year and A LOT of work to lose the weight. Months of eating just yogurt and banana's and that is about it.....I am pretty sure that Dr. Roye has people over 400 lbs that he has preformed surgery on. Perhaps you should contact RI hospital for more information.
