We Missed You...

We had a great time with dinner and dancing on Saturday night - the only thing missing was you! Despite the horrible weather, we made the best of it. We shared good food, great conversation and danced the night away. Some people have wondered why people who've never met would get together like this, so I've been thinking... - I love the RIH support group meetings and get a lot out of them. - I love this website and it is the first place I turn when I have a "crazy" question or just need some support. - But for as much as I get from both of these places, nothing can replace sitting at a table with a group of other people *****ally do undestand what you're going through. I have an incredible suport system, for which I am thankful. However, no amount of love for me is going to help my husband understand that chugging water is painful. Yet, mention the same thing in the company of WLS patients, and the knowing nods and smiles appear. I treasure the friends that I have made along the way and look forward to those I haven't yet encountered. Learning about them is teaching me about myself, and there's no value high enough for the lessons I've learned. We'll be getting together again in May - we'll let you know when in case you decide to join us. Jen

Hey Jen, Im so sad I missed you all on Saturday. Due to the weather two of my flights were cancled and I didnt get back into RI until late Saturday evening rather than first thing in the morning. To be honest I didnt call to tell you because I figured that everyone was staying in due to the weather, now I feel terrible!! I am so glad to hear that you all had a nice time. I am in need of a support group outting so it would have been just what the doctor ordered. Hopefully next time will work out better or if anyone wants to get together this week for an informal cup of coffee let me know. With love, Em
