I had wls on feb, 1, 2005. The first week I was able to consume approx. 1 oz of fluid and two weeeks later I am able to take in 1 1/2 cups of fluid at a time. I am just concerned. I am able to tolerate a lot of things so I feel like I have to be extremely careful not to sabatage the whole operation. I can to;lerate peanuts and peanut butter, jelly, meats, and doing well with dairy products. The portions are smaller than with I normaly use to have but I am just surprised that I can still tolerate these items.

Hi there, Have you been cleared by your surgeon to eat all the foods you have listed? Did you have bypass or banding? It doesn't sound like you are having a normal experience, and you should probably contact your surgeon's office to let them knwo what you are consuming and the quantities you are able to tolerate. Good luck! Kristen J.

Hi there, I wasn't able to eat any of the things you are eating until I was at least 3 months out. Even now, I have some trouble with chicken. Regardless, a cup and a half seems like a lot of food for soon after your surgery. As far as protein drinks, I drink Isopure daily. It comes in a variety of flavors, and the thing I like about it is that it comes in both premixed bottles ($35/ case of 12) and powder form. They have the standard chocolate, etc, but the premixed bottles are fruit flavors and are water like. They aren't thick, which for me is their biggest plus for me. I have always felt the shake like drinks are too heavy and too filling for my taste. When I found these, I was thrilled. I buy them at Fitness Technologies, but I know they are available at other places around the state. The guys who work at Fitness Technologies have always been very respectful and helpful. Hope that helps you. Kristen J.
