visit with Dr. Pohl

well, I did it.....I went to the seminar and now I'm making appointments and talking to people everywhere about this surgery. I called and made my appt. with Dr. Pohl, but it's not until April 10th.....=(. I guess I've waited this long, I can wait a few more months. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a trick to get moved up on the list. Is there a particular day or time that I should call? Someone told me to call every Friday....can't hurt I suppose. I need a kick in the tush to call my insurance company to see if they'll pay. I have a great plan...BCBS-HMC2C...but still need to check. I'm scared that they'll say no and I would be crushed. I've been thinking about this for over a year...and have been here, "lerking" about, reading everything I can find on the surgeries so that I can make a good choice. I'm afraid that BC will disappoint me. But gotta let that go and make the call. I was told that we don't have to schedule the HIDA scan if we're getting the lap band. Although I'm just not sure. I am very partial to the lap band, but would like the weight loss that comes with the RNY. Any suggestions for this poor WLS orphan?

Welcome Michele, Dr. Pohl was my surgeon. He's awesome! I had the RNY with no complications. I had originally had my first appointment with him for february of next year. The staff told me to call every wednesday and friday for an earlier appointment. So I did! And I got in the following monday! Let's see.....I went to his seminar in august 2004, and had my surgery November 2nd! Not bad, huh? Good luck to you with your journey. There's lots of support her so don't hesitate to ask questions!
