Dehydration and the ER

Hi all, After 3 nights of stomach pain and pseudo-vomiting (nothing in my stomach, so just painful dry-heaves), I went to the ER yesterday morning. They determined that I'm dehydrated. They gave me 2 litres of fluid, and sent me home. Instructions are to take in 12 8-oz glasses of fluid daily. I couldn't manage the original 8! I've been drinking water and Crystal Light. Any other suggestions on how to get the fluid in? I'll do anything to avoid the pain and heaves! Thanks! Jackie

Hi Jackie, Sorry to hear that your not feeling well. Sugar free jello and pops are considered a clear fluid. I would also try tea. It may help with the temperature changes for a little bit of variety. Take care megan

Hey Jackie, Every morning I brew some tea in ho****er (just about 4oz) and add 3 packs of splenda, then I add 32oz of COLD water and ice. It makes really good ice tea, i can drink it all day long. Best of luck, hope you feel better! With love, Em

I alos find that tea is a great solution. I have some hot tea every morning just to settle my stomach. Of course, make sure you're drinking decaf tea, or you'll be defeating the purpose of trying to get fluids in. Good luck! Jen
