I'm a loser!
Hello all.....
I agree.....we all need to communicate better! I've been trying and I check my email everyday!
I saw Dr. Pohl yesterday for my post-op appointment and I'm down 32 pounds. Sounds like a lot but I still can't see too much of a difference! However, I do notice that my energy level is awesome! I don't dread going up and down the stairs anymore! I am going crazy because I'm craving raw veggies and salads but Dr.Pohl said "No raw veggies". He's hounding me to go to counseling though. It's not that I don't want to go, it's more like I want to wait until the Holidays are over with so I'm not so crazy with other things!
My attitude is changing...slowly but surely. My cravings subside a little quicker too. I guess it depends on the day, ya know? Last night, I was so sick of protein and food in general that I couldn't make up my mind and I didn't end up eating anything for dinner at all. I was miserable. I didn't sleep well and then I was cranky all morning. I have to eat my protein because it's good for me! That's what I am constantly telling myself!
Any good fish recipes anyone? How about other forms of protein?
Thanks for listening!

Hi Megan,
Congratulations - that's great!
I think we all craved the salads and veggies - I know that at my 6 week transition class, it was the one thing we all had in common. And let me tell you, that first salad was sooooo good, but after about 3 bites, I couldn't eat anymore.
Keep up the great work!
Jen
Thanks Jen....
I can't wait to eat fruit and raw veggies. I can wait though. I'm still having a hard time with meat. I can eat chicken okay but forget pork and beef! Ohhhhh....it's sooo painful! I wonder if it's the fat content or the type of protein thats so hard for me to digest?
Thanks for your response....
How are your dance lessons going? I've been reading up on your posts. I commend you on your enthusiasm! I think I'll wait a while until I try dancing. Still a little too shy!
Take care

Megan,
Hi, I'm Jackie. We had our surgery about the same time, mine was on 10/29/04 at RIH with Dr. Harrington. I feel terrific with lots of energy as well. I'm stuck at about the 32 pound mark and can't seem to budge past it. I am also finding it hard to eat, I have no appetite, and nothing is appealing. I've tried the Gorton's frozen baked fish and it isn't too bad if you like fish. They're very small portions and one piece cut in half was enough for me. I also find it hard to sip the liquids all day and I hate the protein shakes as well -- seems we have a lot in common. If you're thinking of starting a support group, even though we don't live that close, I would be interested and take the drive. Let me know! I think we can all use the support and feedback from one another.
Thanks,
Jackie
