Hello everyone... I'm back home. Just got back today. The surgery went well. Dr. Pohl was great. He came in every morning and he was pleased with the outcome. I was up and walking about an hour after surgery. The nurses on the floor were pretty impressed with my enthusiasum. Now, I'm sort of figuring out what it is that I can tolerate for food and I'm a little hesitant on trying new things. My mom went out and bought SF pops, crystal light, cottage cheese, protein drinks and chicken broth. Any other suggestions?? Also, my discharge orders said to make an appointment for a follow up with Dr. Pohl. Does anyone know the time frame of when he'll want to see me? Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers! I will keep everyone updated! Megan B

Megan, So glad to hear that you are home and all is well. Light and fluffy scrambled eggs is another good one. Although I am not big on eggs they are a great source of protien. Get losts of rest. Hope to chat soon. Sandi

Megan, Congratulations! Glad to hear that you're home and doing well. The first 6 weeks are really trial & error - one day something might go down really well and the next not so much. Just remember that this is a process and once you get through the early stages, you'll feel great and look even better. Jen

Megan, Welcome home!!! Sounds like you are doing very well. Good for you. Keep up the good work. Try to get enough protein every day. Best wishes on your road to recovery. Marianne F.

Glad your home and everything is going well. Dr. Phol's office makes the appointment 3 weeks later usually. I saw him 3 weeks after I was home. Then I won't see him for 2 months which for me happens to be in december. Shannon

Megan, Call Dr. Pohl's office, his schedule fills up fast. He will be telling you to see the dietitian, I found scramble eggs made with water instead of milk 1/4 cup= 1 egg and a little water went down the best. I had a menu from my dietitian that I followed. Glad you are home and on the losing side. Pat

Thanks for the responses everyone.... Pat.... It's funny that you suggested the scrambled egg with water. I had my first egg last night and it didn't sit well at all with me and I blamed it on the milk that I used. I will definitely try it with water. Thanks! Shannon... How are you doing? Haven't heard from you recently since your sugery. Hope things are well with you. I will call Dr. Pohl tomorrow and see what his waiting list is for appointments. Has anyone tried the Atkins yogurt? It tastes soooo much better than the dannon lite! And they have 12 gms. of protein and no sugar! The only thing is that they cost 99 cents a peice and I don't know about you but I think thats expensive for yogurt!! I justify it because a serving for me is half of a container. So, anyway....I think I'm worth 99 cents! lol.... Thanks again everyone. I need all of your support and appreciate all of you! Megan B
