Anyone hear from Maureen M?
Hi Emily! I'm still here!!! According to Dr. Roye my surgery (on the 19th)went very smoothly & I was able to come home on Thursday night!!! I was surprised that I didn't undergo a leak test before discharge, but Dr. Roye said I didn't need one. The possibility of developing a leak is probably still my biggest fear.
I think that my biggest adjustment will be learning to eat & drink so-very-s-l-o-w-l-y!!! I have to teach myself new habits. So far I have had Gerber's Stage 2 Oatmeal with Bananas & Applesauce, Part Skim Ricotta Cheese, Apple Juice, Elite Chocolate Protein Drink (mixed with 1% milk), & water, and my body handled them well. It is a learning process & I am really looking forward to the support group meetings even more. I have so many questions! Thanks so much for asking after me & I hope to see you in November! Take care & ttys, Maureen
P.S. I have started to weigh myself each day since getting home from surgery & my scale says I am down 10 pounds since the 19th....I am amazed! Is this really possible? Have others had this kind of start?
P.P.S. A question for those taking Actigall: The capsule is HUGE!!! How do you take it? Is it possible to swallow it without it getting stuck or do you open it up & dissolve the powder in _____???? I would be so thankful for any suggestions!!!
Hey Maureen,
I am so glad things went well! Congrats on being post op!! Dr. Roye didnt do a leak test on me either before I left but I was assured he did a thorough test before he closed me up. He is a great surgeon. Isnt it great to be home!! I wouldnt doubt you loosing 10lbs, awesome job! I disolve my antigal in my protein drink.
With love,
