Hello everyone, Last night it occured to me that I was going in to surgery in 2 weeks..... 2 WEEKS!!! But, I have to tell ya that I am excited! Is it me, or has anyone else gotten through all of the pre-op testing this quickly? I'm thinking this is a good thing because it's happening all so fast that I don't have much time to freak out and worry. Dr. Pohl has been wonderful but I'm not sure why he didn't have me do a sleep study or see a cardiologist. Is it because of my age? I don't think so. I'm 34! I did tell him that I didn't have sleep apnea and that as far as I knew, I didn't have any heart problems. I just wonder what the criteria is in order for you to have to have these tests and why some people don't need to do them. Has anyone else experienced the same with Dr. Pohl? Anyway.... I wanted to thank everyone for their support. I have no idea what I would have done if I didn't find this website. There's something to be said about people that are in the same situation as you. I have a lot of support around me but having everyone in this forum has been a big help. I choked down my protein drink this morning and it's time to drink my lunch now..... I'm not ready for it but I need to stick with it. I bought some crystel light and I think thats going to be a God send.... any suggestions on brands of sugar-free popsicles?? Megan B

Hey Megan, I am so glad your day is coming up. I know for my pre op stuff, I did not have to see a cardiologist because I am under the age of 40 with no heart trouble. I did have a sleep study done only because I had some insomnia at the time and Dr Pohl wanted to make sure I did not have sleep apnea which I didn't. He said I was very low risk and only did it as a rule out, which came back negative anyway. I used Welch's sugar free popsicles. I also bought some chicken broth which was my God Send as well. I am not sure what protein shake your using but there's a company called EAS that makes Carb Control shakes. The chocolate is to die for, tastes a lot more like the real thing. The kind they sell in Dr Pohl's office made me gag Keep us posted Megan !!!! Take Care, Stephanie
