Hello all, I had my psych. evaluation on Monday and was actually surprised when he told me that he was reluctant to clear me for surgery! I thought it may have been because of my anxiety disorder but he said it was mostly because he feared the lack of support from my family and friends. he wanted to know how I'm going to cope with stress when I don't have food.... Good question! I don't know! It's like losing a friend. I'm scared but I do know that in the past, the most successful weight loss that I've had was when I was in therapy. I ended up telling him (promising) that I was going to go back to counseling and he reluctently cleared me... Next monday I have my endoscopy and Dr. Pohl said I don't have to see a cardiologist or have a sleep study so that'll be it for my tests. Things are moving so fast! So far, everyone has been so nice though! Thanks for listening! Megan B

Megan, My first weeks post op I was on these message boards everyday, becuase I had very little support as well, and who else is going to understand what your going through other than people who are pre/post op. I really do have to get to a support meeting at the hospital, it's just that I started the gym and it runs into the same time, Dr Pohl said he'd rather see me sweating it lol. You will have some loss or grief after not having food there, but you know what too...you're also initially going to lack desire to comfort yourself with food. I'm glad you passed the exam, just remember that you have people on the boards for the most part who are chock full of info and have gone down the same road as you !!! Best Wishes, Stephanie
