Seeking info on Stress Test!! Mine is Wednesday!
Hi everyone! I have my Cardiolyte Stress Test on Wednesday and I wanted to get some sort of idea as to what to expect. I have already had problems with IV's throughout all of my tests that require it and wasn't sure if this one did also. Can anyone tell me what to expect? I'm a little nervous about this one, I must admit. Thank you!
Hey Dee,
You will do fine! Its really not that bad. Are you having yours at the APC building? If so you will be called into a room where a lady will explain everything to you. She will take your BP and hook you up with all the wires. Make sure you wear loose comfy clothes and good shoes. She will also put your IV in. I had problems with IV's on all my tests except this one. She got it in on the first shot. Then you will walk across the hall to a room with a tredmill. They will hook you up to the machine and then you will begin walking at a very slow pace. They will tell you to tell them when you feel like you can only keep going for another minute. The tredmill speeds up and inclines every 10 seconds or so. Make sure you tell them when you feel like you cant go for more than another minute because you have to stay on for a minute. When you tell them you cant go for more than a minute more a tech will inject you with some radioactive solution that goes to your heart. You will go into a waiting room and wait about 30 mins before they bring you into the scanning part of the test. You basically just lay down while they take pictures of your heart from different angles. Then your free to go! Best of luck! With love,
Em
Hi Em,
Thank you so, so much for all your information and kind words. I am nervous, but I will do what I have to and get through it. Everyone has gone through it, and that is what keeps me going. I cannot wait until I am through with all my tests and get a date. Its unimaginable that I am actually going to FINALLY be healthy this time next year. WOW.....
Thank you again,
Dee~
