Hi everyone, I am two-weeks post-op and worried I'm not getting enough protein. The four different protein powders I have are awful (Nectar, Any whey, etc) and I can always tell when my husband tries to sneak the smallest amount into my food. Any suggestions? Also, I'm looking for someone who might want to be a pen-pal -- exchange messages on a regular basis. Thanks!! --Anne

Hi Anne, You didn't like the Nectar?? I have the Roadside Lemonade and I love it - I mix it with a little Crystal Light and it goes down pretty well. I don't care for the smell at all, but that's what straws are for! I also have the Strawberry Kiwi and the Green Apple - those are good, too! I have a limited tolerance for milk products, but the GNC Vanilla whey isn't bad. You can add fresh fruit or fruit extracts to make it taste better. Have you tried that at all? As for a new pen pal, I'd like to volunteer! I am 16 days out and would love to keep in touch with someone who started their new life at the same time as me. And since we're both patients of Dr. Roye, we'll have similar guidelines to follow. ( I love that man! ) Hope to hear from you! Jen

Hi Anne, Although I found that the Nectar flavors were very good ( Apple, blue raspberry,et al) I have found Isopure by Nature's Way (premixed bottles) to be tolerable when they are cold. I've found that Grape frost suits me best. It has 40 grams of protein per bottle. It takes awhile to drink, so I don't worry about the 30 gram rule of protein absorption. I have not found that the powders are as palatible. Good luck, feel free to email me too if I can help! Be well! Kriss
