I had my surgery lap too and I went into surgery at noon on Tuesday and left the hospital at 5pm on Thursday. From what I gathered it is usually a 2-3 day stay barring any complications. They want to make sure you are off the morphine drip, able to walk on your own, no sign of infection in the cuts, that you can use the bathroom and drink without puking. Once you are able to do all that, they usually let you go. At least with Dr. Roye's and Harrington's patients. I've never read anything about Dr. Pohl keeping his patients in any longer than that either. You must be excited, only 3 more days! It really is a wonderful tool and the best decision I ever made. Good luck!! Megan

Hi Shannon ! I had my surgery on April13th a Tuesday afternoon and I walked out of the hospital on Friday at noon. I had open RNY. I have lost 96 pounds as of this morning. I started at 370. Good luck and keep a positive attitude. Dale

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the quick responses. It seems like I will be home pretty fast. I am just hoping to go home after the holiday. I don't want to hear about all the cook-outs people are having. By then I am sure I won't want to hear about food. LOL Shannon

Trust me and all of us, food is not going to be your #1 concern right after surgery.....it's a blessing. Best wishes to you.
