pre-admissions today

I went for my pre-admissions testing today. It was almost painless. After the 20 questions I stepped on the scale and was happy to see I lost another 10 pounds since the last time I saw Dr. Phol. Then I had a little meeting with the anestesia (sp) department lady and answered her questions. I then went to the other area and had 3 vials of blood taken after the third and painful try and a ekg (i think that was it). Lastly I went and had a chest X-ray taken. Since I had a complete heart work up in january they are just going to have my PCP's office fax over those results. I am however not tkaing anyones word for it and I will be calling Dr. Phol's office on Monday to make sure they got it. If not I am personaly going to my PCP's office and getting a copy and then I will hand deliver it to Dr. Phol's office. As of Monday, not counting Monday I will have 4 days until my Friday September 3rd surgery and I am taking ANY chances. So that is where I am right now. I hope everyone else is doing great. Shannon

Is that how Dr. Pohl does it? All the pre testing in one day? It took weeks to get through all the testing before my surgery....I'm just curious as I've gotten this impression from others before. I hope everything goes great....good luck to you.

Elaine, The preadmission testing is different from the testing we all go through before we are approved for surgery. The preadmission testing you will go through the week before your surgery, just general bloodwork and xrays to make sure everything is all set for the "big day." Good luck with your surgery, you must be counting the days! Kriss
