Since my surgery, I can't find anything that I like to drink to get my fluids in. I have to go for frequent bloodwork & I'm having problems w/ dehydration... I have tried H2O, tea, some Crystal Light,. Would love any suggestions. Thanks, Marianne

Hi Maryanne, Not sure if there's a Shaws in Cranston, but I am sure Stop and Shop makes a similar thing. I buy these waters from Shaws, Naturally Flavored Spring water (noncarbonated), very similar to Fruit 2O with less weird aftertaste. I was also drinking Propel water made by Gatorade which has electrolytes in it. It does have like 10 calories in it, they are also flavored. My personal trainer made me ditch the propel because it did have some sucrose in it. The Shaws waters are calorie free and come in great flavors. They come in a 6 pack of 16 oz bottles. I can only drink plain water if I'm really thirsty, otherwise I need some variety, so I have trouble with my fluids too. Although this has calories in it, I also drink Dannon light and fit yogurt smoothies, this helps me with my calcium intake as well, they come in small bottles I think about 6oz. Hope that helps a bit and continued best of health to you, Stephanie

Hi Marianne, First, welcome home, glad you are doing well enough to be home now, it's all going to get better each day. I will keep you in my thoughts for continuing progress for you. Of all the things I have drunk in the last month, I have found tha****er is the most satisfying, but I do enjoy the heck out of popsicles. Maybe it would be a little easier for you until you are a bit more healed, to do popsicles. The sugar free ones come in so many flavors, and there are plenty of brands to choose from. I've found that for some reason it doesn't feel as filling as drinking. Hope that helps, and keep getting stronger everyday. Kristen

Marianne, Sorry to hear that you are having so much trouble post op. Who is your new doctor? About your fluids: have you tried Crystal Lights Sunrise? It is orange flavored and reminds me of Tang from my childhood. It is the only Crystal Light I can tolerate since surgery. I can't drink plain water unless I am really hot and thristy so I usually drink the Sunrise and SugarFree Koolaid in Grape flavor. The only place I can find the sugerfree koolaids has been Walmart. They usually have grape, cherry and tropical punch but I can only drink the grape. Keep trying stuff until you find something that works for you. I have experimented a lot too. One experiment was taking Celestial Seasonings herbal/caffeine free tea Wild Berry Zinger and making it into iced tea sweetened with Splenda or Stevia. It really helped soothe my picky tummy in the beginning. Good luck to you. I hope you feel better soon and keep healing! Megan

My favorite drink is one I enjoyed before surgery as well. I buy the clear fruit flavored carbonated water from WalMart. I mix it half and half with water. This has always made it more palatable to me, as I thought it was too sweet out of the bottle, and this makes it light enough to be refreshing. It also has the added benefit of removng the fizz.
