I am just checking in with you all. Wondering where everyone is and how your all doing??? My date is getting closer and I am getting more excited. One quick question.... Does anyone know of a good cook book that is out with recipes for WLS people??? I have no idea what I am going to cook once I can start cooking real meals for myself. TIA Shannon

Shannon, try "Before & After" by Susan Maria Leach. Over half the book contains recipes for WLS patients. Her website is bariatriceating.com. All my best thoughts are on their way to you as you approach your special day!!! Maureen M.

Hi Shannon, I bought a book at Borders and it's about everything you need to know regarding bypass surgery. It takes you from finding a surgeon, pre-op testing, insurance companies and what to expect after the surgery. At the end of the book there are guidelines from a week before surgery to a year post-op (recipes). It's great. It gives you meal plans so you don't have to guess and portion size so you don't over do it. I'm going to follow it when I have my surgery. My mom is a nurse and she's taken care of people that have had the surgery. She said that she can tell when some of her patients aren't following their new diet and for the ones that do follow....the results are incredible. I can't remember the name of the book but there are quite a few out there. Good luck! Megan
