Sleep Study Question
I had my consult with the sleep specialist at RIH today & am now on a "High Priority/Cancellation" List for the sleep study. I'd like to ask if any fellow patients of Dr. Roye (or Dr. Harrington) were placed on this list &, if so, how soon you heard from the lab of an available opening (2 weeks? a month?). You see, I will be having my psych testing & follow-up eval. next week & then my stress test on the 18th of this month which would then leave only the blood work to be completed (yeah!!!)....so needless to say, I am very anxious to have the sleep study done asap!!! Thanks so very much for any info you can give me....Maureen M.
Hi Maureen!
You a zooming through your testing! Did they give you any date or are you just on a wait list?
My sister-in-law had to wait about a month. My friend was about month and a half.
Keep in mind that you can go to Newport, RI, or Miriam. People are supposed to call in by 11:00 a.m. to confirm their appointment for that evening, so if you felt like it, call them. What do you have to loose?
Refresh my memory -- do you have Roye or Harrington?
Denise
Hey Maureen,
You wont wait long at all. I had my consult last week and that very afternoon they called me for an opening that night. Did you go to Dr. Stanchina (spelling?)? He seems to be very quick!! Good luck with everything, it seems like we are at almost the same spot on this journey. I have my last test (the stress test) on the 19th. -Em
To really broaden your chances add Newport Hospital to your list. I live an hour away, but put I would go anywhere and they called me the next day with a cancellation in Newport. And from what I hear from others that went to RIH, Newport is much nicer. I had a private room with a TV and my own bathroom. The tech was extremely nice too. To me, getting in so much earlier was well worth the drive.
Good luck!
