Dr. Harrington's Surgery Dates
Elizabeth,
Hang in there. I called initially in late February, then called for an update in late April. At that time, I was told that it would be late May or June, but I actually got a call the following day, with an appointment 3 days later! I think someone may have cancelled for me to get in that quickly. If you can be flexilble, you might try letting them know that you'd be interested in filling any cancellation. Otherwise, try to be patient. So far, my experience has been that it is VERY worth it, even though I haven't yet had surgery. I was scheduled for 12 different tests, making me feel very confident that they won't go through with this unless they're sure that I'm up for it, both physically and psychologically.
Hi Jackie!
I can't speak for myself because I don't even have a consult with him until August 10, but my sister-in-law is also a patient of Dr. Harrington's. She completed all of her pre-op testing and had the "final" appointment with Dr. Harrington on June 1.
He did give her a date during their meeting. It was June 11, BUT then had to change it because there were issues with her blood work (low blood count and iron). Her new date is now July 23 only if her numbers increase.
I don't think that is too bad.
I do have to say that what I have heard from everyone, he is a fabulous doctor and "dots the i's and crosses the t's".
Keep me updated.
Denise
Hope this helps
Denise,
Thanks for your response. If my process goes the way of your sister-in-law's, it's right where I expect it to be. I'm hearing the same things about him, and I can tell you that his staff has been absolutely wonderful. They've done virtually everything for me, so far. They scheduled almost all of my tests for me, and the staff at RI Hospital has been nothing less than great.
Jackie
