WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO THE HOSPITAL?

HI TO ALL OF YOU, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD BRING TO THE HOSPITAL AND IF I HAVE TO BUY ANY PROTEIN DRINKS TO TAKE TO THE HOSPITAL, CAN ANY OF YOU HELP ME WITH THIS PLEASE.

They will give you the protein drinks there. At RW hospital they had SF carnation instant breakfast. You need to bring chapstick cause your lips are going to be dry. A robe, slippers, books, hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap (but the hospital provides this stuff too. I like my own better), nightgown (I wore the johnnies instead), baby wipes to help you stay fresher, tongs (only if you have a hard time reaching those hard to reach spots, I didn't need them), tampons or pads becaue a lot of women get their periods due to the stress of surgery. I think that about covers it unless someone else has a suggestion. Good luck and here's wishing you a fast and uneventful surgery and recovery. Joanne

Hello Glenda, Depending on typ of surgery you have and how long you will stay in hospital. I used johnneys first part of my stay. Put on a gown of my own for company at night. Hospital has baby shampoo,powder,all that you'll need. If you feel better bringing your own stuff thats ok too. Take as least as you think youll need. I would take a pair of slippers cause the socks they give you are hard to put on after surgery, sonething easy to slip into lol. Your diet will be limited to clear liquids at first, but dont worry you'll be more thirsty than hunger for food. Best of luck to you . Have a speedy and safe recovery.Im post op march 16. Paulene

I wouldn't bring alot of stuff from home I did & never used any of it... Bring your own toothbrush the (hosp. one is lousey) but the hosp. gives u shampoo & cond, lotion, deodorant, mouth wash (roger williams hosp) but if u want your own stuff that's up to u... I got my own toothbrush & mouth wash, 2nd fl. there is NO SHOWERS to use, until they move u to 4th fl. again thats at RWH.... At the beginning u don't really care what it is your not feeling up to looking too pretty, just making it through the day... Hope this helps Deb

Hi Glenda , It's Linn ,I met you at DR Phols office, I'm so glad you got your appointment I brought too much to the hospital,,lol bring some baggy comphy pj's thats if ya dont like the gowns,slippers,undies,socks,books,,but i was so out of it i did'nt want to read,they supply you with all toilitries but i brought my own,bring your c-pap machine. anything else you want to know,e-mail me ,,good luck hun.
