Support meetings????

When and where are ALL support meetings in RI? Joanne

The Weigh to Win support group meets the third Thursday of every month at the Kay Auditorium at Roger Williams Hospital at 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Dr. Pohl usually comes at the beginning of each meeting to answer any questions or concerns. All gastic by pass patients whether pre op or post op are welcome. For all pre op patients they have to attend Dr. Pohl's informational seminar first before they can attend the support group. All families and friends of the patients are welcome to attend also! Thanks Nancy. Do you know about the other support group at RI hospital? Frankly I just need to go to one, doesn't matter which. I just hate that there is only one a month. Joanne

Joanne, The meetings at RIH are held on the first Wednesday of each month. They start at 6:30pm in the Gerry House. Dr. Roye is there for each meeting, so that you can ask questions, etc. Anyone who is pre-op, post-op or just wondering is welcome to attend, along with family & friends. There is a great group of core people, as well as those who come and go. Jen

Joanne, There is a new support group that meets the first Tuesday of each month at Westerly Hospital. It just began last month, I believe. I went last night and it was a very good group. Small and intimate. Very informal. I just got home from the RIH meeting. Dr. Roye is always there to answer any questions. It was a huge crowd tonight. I have been on some nights when it was not so crowded. I prefer those nights. My surgery is less than 3 weeks away now!! I can't believe it is so close.
