Looking for recommendations for primary care physician

I want to find a new primary care physician who is familiar with gastric bypass patients. My doc has only had one other wls patient and I really feel the need to have someone who understands the surgery and issues better. I am looking for suggestions - prefer docs located in Warwick, Cranston, Providence areas. Thanks for any help.

If anyone knows of one in the area of Noth Kingstown with wls experience that would also be appreciated. Joanne

im post op january 6th. My primary doctor is Dr. Muhamed Akhtar. Hes excellent. Hes right off highway on Warren Avenue, EP.I know its not close to Cranston but hes excellent doctor *****commended the surgery and hes very thorough. Hes not a doctor who looks at you and blames everything on your size. Connie Parsons

Hi, Dr. Vincent Armeino in East Prov. The staff is great and he's soooo good looking lol. He's and extreamly intelegent Dr ,no matter who you talk to in all hospitals everyone knows him. His practice is intern,hematolagy,oncolagy. Great bed side manner and funny. Any more info just ask glad to help. He has recommended and helped quite afew people for this surgery. Paulene Souza

My PCP is Dr. David Steigman--235 Plain St. He works very closely with Dr. Harrington and has quite a few patients who have had the surgery, including me. He has been my PCP for the last 12 years, he is very knowledgeable and has a kind heart.
