Scar tissue problem.

I had an open surgery and I ended up with a hernia, afterwards. my doctor repaired it with mesh and It healed up well. I feel stronger now, but I have a hard mass just about three inches below my sternum. It feels like I have a golfball lodged in there. I only hurts (more dull type of pain) if I move a certain way, but other than that I rarely feel it. I have mentioned it to my doctor and he said it is not a new hernia forming, and that it could be that some of my scar tissue may be calcifying. He said that if he removes it, it may come back... Has anyone had this type of problem? And if so what have they done about it? Thanks Anthony Rufo....
