needing a surgery date.

Can someone tell me if you have to take classes before your surgery??? I mean I already know what to do when surgery is done and over etc.. and what follow up things are needed. I have all my tests done and i am waiting for jan 6 to hit so i can get a surgery date. I want to get this over and done with asap so I can move back to Florida. i have a good job waiting for me in feb, and I also have my fiance there as well. The doctor ( Dr. Harrington's office,) was telling me that it could be as late as april for surgery. WELL I CANT WAIT THAT LONG. What do I do ? I do not want to go in there and say well, as soon as this is done i have to leave etc. Any suggestions???? Thanks Emily Reyes

I have Dr. Roye but I know that Dr. Harrington's patients need to attend the same pre op class that Dr. Roye's patients do. It is a 2 1/2 hour class where you meet the nurses, PT, dietician, etc from RI Hospital. Everyone that was at my class (both Dr. Roye and Dr. Harrington patients) already had our surgery dates. Other than that info I don't know what to tell you. If you go and find out the surgery date is too far away I would ask if Dr. Harrington can transfer your care to someone in FL. Good luck to you!

Megan thanks so much .. Well I talked to my soon to be husband and he said not to worry about it. So i will wait and see what happens. I see dr. harrington on tuesday and I will let u know what happend .. thanks emily
