someone HELP ME PLEASE....

My name is Emily Reyes and I am in need of anyone who can help me with rite care of rhode island ( United Health Care) .. Its been about 5 months since they have recived my paper work for approval.. AND NOTHING.. I CALL AND CALL AND CALL AND GET NO WHERE... I am so heavy that I can not even walk a few feet without huffing and puffing and I have really bad adema and high blood pressure,....I just do not know what to to anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dr Harrington's office is so busy that i dont get anywhere with them either... Anyone with advice or something ... I have tired therapy and a nutionisit and failed... I wrote the insurance company and still nothing... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...i AM SO OVERWEIGHT IM SCARED ... I do not eat anymore junk and I try so hard to not over eat... I have no family here and im scared something is gonna happen to me and then what do i do for my kids? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone help... my e mail is [email protected]... god bless Emily

I think I am going to be in the same boat as you. I too have the same insurance. I will not take no for an answer. I will call every single day and ask for supervisors if I have to. Emily....FIGHT IT! Don't let them forget who you are. Be a pest. Have your doc re-submit the papers and hound the hell out of the insurance co. You have co-morbidities and with united rite care, they will approve if you have a medical reason. Keep reminding them of that. Joanne

no i have not heard anything at all they just tell me it will take a while.. I am like ughhhhhhhhhh. To be honest i would not recomend him to anyone.. He is a good doctor but his staff is very rude.. from what i understand he has gone through 2 secs... Well i wrote my insurance company AGAIN but i sent it certified mail... i just dont know what else to do.... im at my wits end.. and i just found out today that i be will insulin dependent...

Emily, try talking with the doc directly about his office personel. If you can't get him to talk to you then have your PCP call. He'll take a call from another doctor. these people have to be more sensitive to our needs. I tried to get into Dr. Roye and ran into the same problem with the staff. I didn't like them at all. The docs are ok but the staff is uncaring. What did the insurace say about the certified letter you sent? Did you call them as a follow up to the letter? It sucks having to fight like this. But we have no choice other than to lay down and die. None of us are willing to do that either. That is why we are fighting for the surgery. It seems to be a f@#$ing gsme of survival.
