How am I doing?

Hi everyone. I am 13 days post op and have lost 11 pounds. Is that good? I find myself on the scale every single day looking to lose more, but I have been at a lull for about 5 days. I don't want to get discouraged, but I hear about people losing like 20 pounds in two weeks and 75 pounds in 9 weeks. Is it because I am on the smaller side of people who have this surgery ( I am 255 right now)? Please tell me how you've done. Cindy

At two weeks out, I'd lost 12 pounds - but I've lost over 160 total now. Don't sweat it, it will come. Try to enjoy the ride instead of getting too focused on the goal! Your body's been through something pretty traumatic, it could take a little longer to kick into gear. A lot of us actually gain weight in the hospital. And always remember that a lot of times when you hear about people with tremendous weight losses, a lot of the time they had complications or were sick a lot. The person who lost 75 in 9 weeks says she throws up a LOT. Trust me, you'd rather lose a bit slower and feel healthier!
