the waiting game..
I saw Dr Pohl on May 12th. Since then I have had all the tests done except the ENG. I have an appointment for July 16th with Dr. Mc Andrew for that. The irratating thing is the insurance company claims they have not rec'd a "predetermination" request from Dr Pohl & his office says they sent it on May 14th. I have United Healthcare Select POS plus. According to their web site, they do pay for this surgery if "they" feel it is warrented. So I guess it's the "wait & see" part of the process.
Also, has anyone found the 1500mg caltrate pills that Dr Pohl wants you on? The highest I could find is 600mg.
Judy, how did you make out with your insurance? I had a very similar problem with Blue Cross and Dr. Pohl's office. Turned out my name was misspelled on the forms and it had the wrong insurance number, but it all worked out in the end.
I could be wrong but I don't think there are any 1500 mg caltrate pills. I think that's just the total Dr. Pohl wants you to get in a day, but you'll have to do three or four pills to do it, depending on which ones you buy. Or maybe even more - Citracal has 630 mg in TWO pills, so you'd have to do over four. I get 500 mg capsules from www.vitalady.com and I find the capsules much easier to take than the larger Citracal pills.
