Hi, I am 3 months post op. Had my surgery at RI Hospital with Dr. Harrington. I am struggling with my weight loss having slowed down quite a bit this past month. I have to date lost 50 lbs. I'm wondering if my loss is ever going to pick up again. I don't eat any sweets/junk, but my carb intake could be lower. I'm finding the high protein/low carb is hard. I like my fruits and yogurt to much. I guess that I'm eating to much of them. I'm hoping to touch base with others in the area who have had or who looking into having this surgery.

Hey Mary. I am having surgery on the 27th. Have you been to any of the support groups at the hospitals? I hear they are a must for support. I am planning on going as soon as I am done and able. I hope you get the support you need and never give up. You've come too far. Love Holly

Hi Mary, I would also suggest that you attend the support group meetings and talk with others about what they are experiencing. It sounds like you may just be plateauing since you are so early in your journey. I don't know what Dr. Harrington's dietary plan looks like, but based on most plans as long as you are getting enough protein, water, vitamins and exercise...you can still enjoy your fruit and yogurt. I know that Dr. Pohl believes in balanced diets...all 4 food groups...with protein being key, of course. I hope that helps a bit. Pam
