LOST MY BAND ON VALENTINES DAY
Had my Band put in 4/07 and removed 5/08 due to unexplained abdominal pain. lost approx 80 lbs. He didn't give me any alternatives, he let me know that the band could not be replaced due to scar tissue. Let me go and told me that he was available should I need him again. I am not sure if he was performing the sleeve back then, its almost 2 yrs.
I have gained 50 lbs. back. I cry all the time because the band was my saving grace, I tried Medi-weight Lost and lost about 20 lbs but put it back. Tight now I am thinking of weight watchers for the 100th time. I cannot control portions, I don't have the power. This was the purpose of going drastic and having the surgery.
I would love to hear more about the sleeve and your progress.

I'm brand new and yoiur is the first message I see. Yikes!!
I truly understand. I have just placed my foot on the surgery path. My fear is that the same thing will happen to me. If you will eccept advice from one who does not always practice what I preach . . . here goes:
I have learned two things that work for me when I remember to do them:
1. After I screw up, I . . . tell my wife, don't beat myself up, and try to get right back on the right track.
2. Sweets attract sweets. If I have something sweet, I am going to want more. After I "slip" I clear my mouth by brushing my teach and rinsing my mouth with listarine.
3. I ask my self if I am really hungry, or just compensating for something.
Obviously these do not always work. But when they don't it is my own fault--my "dark side" if you will. Sometimes it is months before I feel like starting to climb that mountain agin. Well here I am again. Maybe this time . . .

Hi there, so sorry to hear of all the problems! this is my first post, and am having a Myotomy and biliopancreatic diversion open surgery done by Dr. Roye.
I am writing you to tell you of my distaste for Dr. Pole. A few years back he attempted to remove a hemorriod in his office for my husband. Husband drove home, very weak. After a short while, we had to check the gauze for bleeding. Well, he was gushing! Called the Dr and he waited in his office for us to return there. My husband was in the room with the Dr for 1 1/2 hours trying to stop the bleed, after which the Dr came out to get me to help him. There was blood everywhere. Soaked towels on the floor, and my husband was white and not very responsive. The Dr asked me to take over so he could call the RWH to set up emergency surgery, and then called an ambulance. HE had a very scared look on his face and wasnt very reasuring. At the hospital they performed surgery to find the bleed. What happened?
He had snipped the hemorroid but didn't get it all because he couldn't reach it! So, the surgery then allowed him to go in and find the other end of the hemorriod and stitched it. After a couple of hours he sent us home, it was midnight. I never slept that night, worried he may continue to bleed. The Dr never admitted his error in judgement and said this happened all the time! Any Dr who has such bad judgement is a useless Dr.
