Do you dump from sugars? (I do not) Maybe you can try adding ensure to your daily meals... or even one of the body building shakes that are loaded with calories - the ones designed for weight gain. I would try to see another doctor about the pain on your side.

i hope you can get the weight issues resolved without being on a tube.  Do you do full fat yogurt and whole milk??  What about adding some heavy cream to the shakes for extra calories??

I do dump from some sugars but not alot I have gone to 2% instead of skim I cant stand the taste of whole milk and I do eat alot of greek yougurt due to protein issues. I am scrded that I will need a tube and I have to go for bloodwork and gastroencologist which I hope can find what causing this pain so I can put on the weight . Thanks for your reply I can use all the supprt I can get. Family and friends just dont understand.

I would try to eat the most calorie dense foods you can tolerate... try adding cream to your shakes - even if it is a tablespoon - those asre extra calories for your body.  You should look for those high calorie weight gain shakes at a nutrition store.  I hope you can find out what is going on with your body soon.

can you tolerate carby things like potato chips or somehting like that?

I can eat chips which I do but I can only have a few things like pasta, bread and rice I have not been able to tolerate since surgery. I am changing the shake to high calorie , high protein  and I also try to have 6 small meals which is not always possible with job and have high protein bars . Thanks for your help I would like to get to support group but with my job is nearly impossible I appreciate all the advice

I do not really go to support groups because I do not have time with my busy life!! I use OH as a life line!! It is a great saviour for me!  You should try going to the RNY board - or a board with WLS grads - people who are farther out and know a lot more than me - I am just reitterating things I have seen others suggest.

I don't understand them wanting to put in a feeding tube now. Are you not absorbing the nutrients?  I work at a hospital and the only time they put in a feeding tube is for malnutritoin and the patient isn't or can't eat on their own.

I would also suggest the nutrition drinks stated above and weight gaining protein supplements. Also I would get a second opinion prior to getting a feeding tube put in.

Your in my thoughts and prayers for a quick bounce back from this difficult time.
