Hi all. I am almost afraid to write this email because it has been such a long haul for me and my insurance issues. I am now 2 weeks away from surgery and can not believe it is almost here.
I am having my lap band surgery on 12/8 with Dr. Roye. Does anyone have any words of wisdom to make the process easier. How is the diet after? Is there anything I should know about my hospital stay? and recovery after?
I have so many questions but don't really know where to begin so I will start with these.
Thank you in advance for your responses.
Patty

Words of wisdom: Follow ALL directions.
Post op diet for me was a week of clear liquids, a week of full liquids, 2 weeks of mushies, and then 2 weeks of soft.
Can't offer any words about your hospital stay -- I was outpatient. Do you have a list of what to take with you? Might I suggest a pillow to hug during the car ride home, comfortable and easy to put on shoes, a "wear home" outfit that is loose around your waist, and your cell phone and cell phone charger.
Recovery: In addition to "words of wisdom" above, remember that this process is a marathon, not a sprint, and don't be a slave to the scale post op. You will go through periods where there will be no loss, especially once you move from just liquids to mushies.
Good luck to you!
