Okay, so I went to Pa to talk to a surgeon about a DS procedure becasue I was told that the RNY wasn't a possibility due to esophogeal issues. I get to the appt and he says that the DS would not be good due to acid reflux problems and that he is afraid that I will lose too  much weight. He did say that the RNY would work for me and that he would be willing to do it for me. Well, I takje meds for health resaons and that was one reason that I wanted the DS. I have been fighting soooo long. my insurance would cover the RNY easier but I'm ot sure what to do. 2 doctors with 2 completely different opinions. Help!!  Should call the surgeon and ask him to reconsider or just accept the offer and move on? Thanks for your help.

Talk to one more DS surgeon... then make your decision from there.  It seems the DS would be better for you - a woman on the lightweights board had a DS and she is not too skinny - even thought she did not have much to lose.
Johanna - like Joe-on-uh, or that movie, Juwanna Man!

I would seek another opionion and even 2 if it would make you feel better and more confident with the decision you are about to make.  Good luck!

I would try one or two more Drs.  See what the concensus says and then make your decision.  See if you can find others that have met up with this problem.  Good luck and let us know what happens!
