I have to leave the state

to have my surgery.  I am having the BPD/DS. I can't find a surgeon in Rhode Island that can do this procedure so I am going to pennsylvania to have it done. That is where I grew up and I have family there so it will be easier than trying to go to NY or somewhere else. I have an appointment on October 20th with a surgeon in that area. Hopefully things are finally gonna work out for me. Please keep me in your prayers.

Tiffany ~ Hello there!  Wow....can't believe you have to leave RI for the surgery you need.  I guess with Dr. Sax's long term sabbaticial, you don't have any options on the local level.  Thank goodness for family in PA, that'll be great to have a support system in place when you have to be away from home.  Please let us know how the appointment in Ocotber goes and indeed will keep thinking positive thoughts for you.

Is that the duodenal switch?  I am a bit envious!!  You will get to eat all kinds of yummy stuff LOL!!

Thanks so much for your support and yes that is the Duodenal Switch. It is the only one that my insurance company will approve for me due to health restrictions. I will keep you all posted as soon as I get my date.
