I HAVE A DATE!!!

Well I had my pre-op appointment today with Dr Roye and got a surgery date!!  Its going to be October 6.  According to my wife its only 1 month 2 weeks and 3 days.  Seems like a long time, but i guess not really.  Anyway, Dr Roye told me that he isnt sure he will be able to do my surgery laproscopically because i am "all belly" which is true, so its probably going to be an open procedure.  Anyway, I cant wait now that I finally got a date,  Its going to be an exciting few days for me, Sugarland concert on 10/2 and surgery on 10/6....WOOHOO!!!!

Hi Brian!

Congrats on getting your date! You wife is right! Now it's only 1 month, 1 week and 5 days away. My, how time flies!

This is a great time to become more educated about what to expect during your immediate post-op! Meetings are best! Get as many in as you can to ask questions and listen to what others have to say. Especially those who have had the open procedure.

There's a meeting a Miriam tomorrow night 6pm and one at Roger Williams on Thursday 6pm.

Hey Brian,

Go through the main doors. Go right. Past the gift shop. Next doors on the left. The bandsters' meeting starts at 5:30 and the bypass begins at 6pm! You'll see us all standing outside the doors waiting to get in!

Thanks Jules!  I made it to the group, were you there?  I thought i saw you but wasnt sure if it was you or not.   lol    is there an actual schedule somewhere for when and where the groups are?  I'd like to start going to more.  Thanks again, i appreciate it

Yes I was there. Were you sitting in the second row by the door? I had to leave early so I couldn't stick around as usual.

The next group is tomorrow night, 4th Thursday, at Roger Williams. 6-7:30pm. My son-in-law has a ball game (heading to the play-offs) that I promised to go to so I won't be there but it's a great group for chat and information!

Yes that was me near the door int he gray t shirt and hat.  I thought i saw you but i wasnt sure.  Anyway i will send you that email for the support group list.  I cant make it tomorrow but will surely get to more of them before surgery,  thanks again
