Living Life Group at Roger Williams Hospital Wednesday!
Tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19th....
is the 'Living Life' post-op support group meeting!!!
Summer is coming to a close so it's a great time to discuss how to stay on track and get 'back on track'!
We will not be having a guest this month. YOU are the guests!
Although this is a support group for post-op bariatric patients (all kinds), pre-op patients and those considering a procedure are ALWAYS welcome!

825 Chalkstone Avenue
Providence, RI
(401)456-2000

How was the meeting? We really should have a secretary to "post" minutes so those of us who can't make it might still be able to benefit from the meeting.
I intended to be there, but yesterday afternoon, my eight year old discovered that his bike had been stolen...right out of our backyard! We have a fence and gate (no lock on the gate, but a latch). Well, that will change. I live in what I thought was a very safe part of Warwick...not any more!
I really feel violated that some punk kids would take a little kids bike...what??, were they too hot to walk???
You know, not for nothing, but that bike was therapeutic for him as he has ADHD and it helps him get his energy out in a safe, fun way.
So, I stayed home and waited over an hour and a half for a cop to show up to file a report...I think that was pretty useless as I doubt that his Mongoose BMX bike will ever be found again.
(And it is not like I have loads of $ laying around to go replace this...the economy stinks!)
Fill me in, tell me some good news, how was the meeting?
Ruth
The meeting was really good. There wasn't a speaker so we all just went around the table and discussed what we've lost, besides the weight, in our lives. IE medications, depression, no life, etc.
I am pre-op and it's always a great meeting when others tell me the struggles they have gone through when they were at the same place in getting surgery. I always keep info in the back of my head with how they are struggling, too.
Jules had put out a lot of protein bars and protein powders that Vita-Lady had sent to here for the support group. I picked up a few and will try them but I think Vita-Lady will be one of the people I use for my protein supplements.
We had a few new people so it was nice to see new faces and we also had new surgery people and "finally a date" people.
Average weight lost by the group was about 103lbs so what a great accomplishment!!
Sorry to hear about your son's bike. We had a GPS unit stolen from my locked Jeep last year. They worked to get into the soft top (which wasn't easy) but to think that someone would work that hard to steal something....it's frustrating to say the least. I hope the police find it! For a young boy, a bike in the summer is everything.
