Nervous about Surgery

Hello everyone, I am new at the hole message board thing.  My WLS date is 7/31/09 and I am getting very scared.  I know I am making the right choice for myself but there are always the what ifs..  In all the reseach i have done, I love to read the success storys but than the dam cons of the surgeryu always pop up and that is what sticks in my head.  Am I going to be a success story or a con?  Did anyone else feel this way before their surgery's?

Hi Dennis!  Congrats on your surgery date!!  I am sure you will be a sucess story.  I am alos planning on surgery with Dr Roye and dont have a date yet, but am nervous as well.  I think it would be un-natural to not be nervous,  this is a life changing event.  I am sure you will perfectly fine!  Congrats again and good luck!! 

 I think we all got nervous before the surgery.  Dr Roye is a fantastic surgeon and you will be in great hands!  Being a success or failure is up to you.  Remember, this isn't a quick fix, this is just giving you another tool in your fight against obesity.

to be nervous is a natural thing but you have the best surgeon in Dr Roye he is the best, the best of luck to both of you, your spots on the Loser's Bench are waiting

OMGoodness yes! the outcome of surgery was something I was very concerned about...would I be ok? would there be complications? Would they be able to FIX ME???  To be anxious about these things is normal...we all go thru it no matter what the surgery!  The anesthesia, the procedure, the recovery, all of it...but its so worth it..things will go well, Dr. Roye is a wonderful surgeon.  You'll wake up to the nurses saying...its over and it went well!  You're gonna do great!  A positive attitude helps alot too!    Cathy
