Life on Life's Terms...

Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted in a long time...sorry.

Welcome to all you wonderful newcomers! Hope to see you here often and meet you soon!

Things have been really changing in the Nolan house!

My daughter, Jessica, got married, we're doing home renovations, my son, Brian, graduated high school & my daughter, Michelle, moved out to connecticut with family. And that's just the start!

Frankly, my life has been a whirlwind and so have my emotions!

Planning Jessie's wedding then watching this beautiful woman walk down the aisle was just magic! The wedding went well. The families get along great! We had a great time!

Our home is always in renovation flux! Our dining room was finally completed in time for the wedding so now we are onto the next project...who knows what that'll be. Maybe Michelle's room will become my craft room. Hmmm.

Brian graduated high school. This has been a big deal for him. He's 20. He has severe adult ADHD so it's taken a long time for him to get/keep things on task enough to actually graduate. He could have gone the GED route but decided that his actual HS diploma was more important. I'm very proud of him.

Michelle is our youngest of six. My sons Brian & Jordan live in Connecticut so Chelle has decided to live with them now that she is done with school. This has been a big emotional subject because...well...she's my baby.

So, after 26 years of being a mom/mommy...I have an empty nest. With that comes a lot of emotions that I'm dealing with.

Eating is tough for me right now because of it. Seems when I'm stressing, pouchy is grouchy. The things I can normally eat, especially meats, are difficult to hold down or cause me discomfort. I find myself eating a lot more carbs right now (they are more mushy) so I've begun recording everything I eat again to keep track of my calories and protein. At least this gives me something to focus on.

So, although a lot of Life's curves being handed to me are positive, it's change and change is stressful. Time to refocus and discover!

I'm happy to be back to posting again. I've missed you all!

Jules

Well hellllllooooo  Jules!!!   Its so nice to see you on the board!  I have missed you.  All I have to say is    boy when it rains, it pours!!  And yet, you got thru it all.  That is ALOT of emotional stuff you went through.  Now you and your hubby can refocus your relationship and rediscover yourselves as a couple.  How special is that??  You know, your children will always be your children and they will always come home.  But this too will be an exciting new phase in your life.  And you are so young and healthy to really be able to enjoy it!  Look forward to it, Julie!  And your children will feel good about their decisions knowing that you have new prospects and adventures your ready to pursue.  I hope we get to see more of you now.  Take care and I am  hoping to be there saturday!  I will let you know!   Eldy

Hello Jules!!!! Great to see you on here, I too have been offline!  There is so much going on with you!  Getting back to basics is a great approach, one I myself would benefit from as well.  It is interesting that you post that your pouch doesn't  do well when you are under the stress of change.  I thought it was all in my imagination that when I am stressed or upset I always seem to get sick no matter what I eat.  I once again feel enlightened from what you have shared.
I am here if you need someone to vent to!
Hang in there and enjoy this curve in the journey the possibilities are endless and what you make of them !!!
Love ya hun!
Cynthia

Hey Eldy and Cynthia!

Thanks for replying to my post. I appreciate all the positive responses I can get!

Eldy, you're right. Time to refocus on just John and me. Good thing we really like each other! Otherwise I can see us strangling each other into our golden years! Yowzah!

John has just been offered a Sgt Major position with Head Quarters so his major traveling days in the Army are, most likely, over. So this should give us some really good quality times with each other. I'm hoping to add some weekend traveling in there somewhere. Lock up the house and head out!

Visiting with our grandchildren keeps us, both, grounded too. It's a good thing.

I really hope you and the Fam can make it Saturday. Even if it's just for a little while.

Cynthia, it was great seeing you again tonight. We'll have to start making some adult-time plans soon. Even if it IS just to go out to a movie. Time for me to have a social life outside my adult kids. Weird to say but so true.

I'm so proud of being a part of this 'IN crowd'! You all make me feel so damn normal!

I love you!

Jules

Jules,

Right there with ya!  A lot of changes going on here and I'm finding myself hibernating and closing down.

Let's work on getting out of this slump, together!
