What To Expect??
Hello everyone. I am new to the boards here and was just curious if anyone has used Dr Roye? I dont have a surgery date as I am in the process of getting all of my pre-op appointments done. My question is, once I have these done and i make my next appointment with Dr Roye, whats the next step from there? Is is scheduling surgery? or is there more to go thru first? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Once you do all the requirements you go see him and they review your results - if there are no issues then they set you up with a surgery date - is your ins already approved? If not you will have to get preapproved first. But usually they require preapproval before you do all the testing so you are probably good to go!
When you get the date you will also be given a day to go in for postop nut counseling (2 weeks before surgery)- it is a group thing very informative. I wrote about my experiences in my blog - check January 2009 or later.
Dr. Roye is an excellent surgeon. He came to see me just once after surgery, to check my incisions and ask me questions - I was doing great and only saw students after that. I think if I had issues I would have seen him more. I had no drains when I woke up from surgery.
I cannot be more satisfied with his work and expertise you are in good hands!! I recommend him to anyone needing a general surgeon! My mom may need her gallbladder out and I think she should see him!
