i bit the bullet
hi everyone...
i went to my dr's appointment on thursday, ( i am approximately 8 weeks out) explained everything to the doctor from beginning to end. with that being said, i became a direct admit to the hospital!!!! meaning, i left there and went straight to RWMC. i didnt have time to think about it, and come up with an excuse or change my mind...
the dr was concerned that i might have a stricture (opening to the stomach being to small) well, happy to report, after being scoped, that wasn't the case....
however, because i am so severly dehydrated, that was causing my nausea which caused me to vomit, which made me dehydrated and became this vicious cycle!!!
after 8 iv sticks later, they finally got a vein, and pumped some serious amount of fluids and vitamins in.
i am home now, after begging the dr to let me go.... he just shook his head, and chuckled... ( i know he was thinking i am a pain in the ass, and he's right...lol)
i am making a concious effort to do all the things i am suppose to ... again!!!! otherwise, it was suggested that i am going to end up with a PIK line in me, and feeding myself fluids and vitamins through that.
if anyone has any suggesstions for me to get in some protein...please forward it...
(did i mention my bloodwork showed my protein count and everything else was in the toilet!!!!!) i guess that was to be expected!
well, just thought i would give everyone an update... hope all is well!!!!
take good care
linda

I am glad to see you followed the Dr's directions and made it back home.
You might want to try the protein bullets. They pack a high amount of protein, 45g, in a small amount of liquid, 3oz. I don't like the taste of them. But I remind myself it is only 3 oz and more then 1/2 of the protein I need in a day. Some people add water or Crystal Light to them. Myself I just want to get it down and over. You could set a kitchen time for every 10 min to make sure you are drinking something. Just sounds like you have to go back to the basics. I can't believe it has been 8 weeks already. Hang in there you will make it through this.
