hi all...
i should actually be posting tomorrow, but hey..what's one day early. things are going ok...  i am going to see the dr on thursday. i am getting better with fluids, but i am officially shaked out.
which means... i am not getting the protien i need. i am also not taking my vitamins regularly( not liking the flinstone chewables)
i know this is not good, and i am hurting myself, but i plan to discuss all this with the dr, and see what he suggests....
i have to get into a routine of some sort.  i'm not sure if it's the anticipation of eating something, and it's going to hurt...or the taste of another shake  or chewable will make me vomit???

i need help!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have every intention to attend the meeting on wednesday night...can my hubby come too?? he has been so supportive, he wants to learn too..lol

well, that's it for now.. i am going to record my weightloss on my health tracker...yay!!!

hey there girlfriend!  Wow, where do I begin?? LOL

Lets start with the vitamins..  I found all the vitamins they talk about at the meetings and on the board very confusing and time consuming.  So what I do is this...  I take the 2 vitamins (Bariatric from Dr. Pohl's office) in the AM and the PM.  That is all you really need until the doc says different.  There is so much to pay attention to right now, you really don't want ot overload yourself and become overwhelmed.   Then you can concentrate on the protein and fluids.  Thats all you need to really focus on.  It really simplifies things.  You are 4 weeks out, so you should be able to eat some things now.  Do you like Mexican food?  If you do, try this...  buy the Fat Free refried beans ( they taste no different than the regular) take a 1/2 a cup of that and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese ( your choice, I use mild cheddar) and microwave it for about 45 seconds.  Its really yummy and has 13 grams of protein.  If you eat it VERY slowly it should go down very well.   One scrambled egg and 1 slice of cheese is 14 grams of protein.   You should be trying alot of different soft proteins.  Greek yorgut like Chobani is 15 grams of protein.   These are some of the things I do.  I hope this helps.
MOST IMPORTANT THOUGH..  no matter what you eat, make sure you chew to a liquid consistency BEFORE you swallow it.   It will make a huge difference.
I will be there Wednesday night and my husband should be coming with me.  He has never been to a support group meeting, and i think it would be good for him too.   See you there!!!   And we can talk too.  I will bring my steno pad and show you what I do, if you want.
Take care and good luck!   Eldy

Hi!!!
I was the same way when I was about the time where you are. I had an aful time with the shakes.. What I ended up doing was the same things like Eldy said I ound foods that were soft and easily chewed to nothing to subsitute. two key things that I would eat was I made home made beef stew and then pureed it in the blender then I got all the protein from the meat but it was easier to go down. The othe was pured meatballs with a little home made sauce and pured homade chicken soup...Everyone is welcome to the meeting it is AWSOME that your huuby wants to come makes it easier for you!! :) I will also be there if you need any help!!!!
